Michael Owen is a Historic Preservation Specialist for the State Historical Fund. His territory covers the Southwest area of Colorado, and he runs the State Historical Fund’s satellite office in Durango. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to joining the State Historical Fund, Michael worked for the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission for five years. As a Historic Preservation Specialist, he ensures projects meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards. He also works with the Outreach Department to provide information on applying for a grant and finding the best approach for their potential projects.
