Jim Doerner (Ph.D. University of Denver) is a Professor and Chair of Geography, GIS, and Sustainability at the University of Northern Colorado. His research involves reconstructing past climatic and environmental conditions using tree rings, pollen, and sediments. He has worked extensively throughout the Western US and in Southwest Turkey. He is currently investigating the relationship between human activity and past environmental and cultural changes in North Park, Colorado. He is an FAA-Certified Drone Pilot and leads of team of faculty developing an educational drone program at the University of Northern Colorado.
